Dixie's Story

Meet Dixie (aka Dixie Belle!) 🐾

Dixie Belle is an energetic, affectionate Heeler with a heart full of love and an easygoing spirit. She strikes a wonderful balance between playful fun and calm companionship. She may initially cling close to her people, but once she warms up to her new home, expect this girl to confidently explore her surroundings and make herself right at home.

She is extremely friendly with both dogs and people and shows no food aggression. Dixie would truly thrive in a home with other dogs and a yard where she has room to run, play, and burn off her happy Heeler energy. She loves being outside having fun with her canine friends, but just as importantly, she knows how to settle down and relax when it’s time to unwind.

Dixie walks well on a leash and enjoys outings. She also rides very well in the car, she happily relaxes and naps for the ride.

She’s kennel trained, learned to use the doggy door in under a day, and has shown herself to be very smart and eager to learn. As she’s still new to her foster home, she’s beginning to master basic manners, including learning sit and improving her counter-surfing habits. With consistency, she’s expected to pick these skills up quickly.

Dixie also has a musical side — expect plenty of happy barks and adorable howls when she gets excited or wants to join the conversation.

Dixie is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 30.5 lbs, though she’s still filling out and is expected to reach around 35 lbs at a healthy weight. She’s fully grown and ready to find a loving home where she can continue learning, playing, and being someone’s loyal companion.

Dixie is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She has a long tail and is taking flea and heartworm preventative.
