Dixie's Story

This is Dixie! She is kind of a couch potato; she likes to hang out outside in the grass or lounge in bed. She is not averse to a little adventure but she gets tired quickly. Dixie loves snacks but doesn't seem to enjoy peanut butter; she's more of a sardine type of girl. Though she can be a bit shy at first, affection is the way to her heart! After warming up in her foster home, she's been interested to meet people everywhere she has been taken. The other dog in the foster home is a bossy chihuahua, so Dixie can be a bit nervous around her, but hasn't shown any signs of aggression.Dixie was born about May 5, 2013 and weighs 18 pounds. She recently had a dental and is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200.

All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
