Dixi's Story
DIXI - Mexi-Mix / 4.5 Years / 16kg / F-Spayed

We're so proud of Dixi and how much progress she made in 2025 - she's almost a different dog now that she's come out of her shell and learned that there are loving and patient people out there who she can trust. To continue this growth (and have fun doing it), Dixi's made a few resolutions for 2026.

Like all of our dogs, Dixi's #1 resolution is to find her Best Friend Forever. She's hoping that 2026 will be the year that she finds a family and home of her very own. But in the meantime, Dixi also wants to:

- Appreciate her food more slowly so that she can savour every taste palette of each individual kibble piece.
- Continue to build trust that the people around her are loving, kind, and patient.
- Keep growing her thrifting collection of single shoes and socks.
- Learn as much as she can in training classes.
- Explore the world on more nature walks.
-Take up swimming and surfing at the beach instead of inside on the counter.
-Get more belly rubs.

Dixi would love if her forever home had a canine family member: because she's timid and shy by nature, she relies on her dog friends to be more confident in the world around her. She thinks that cats are too fun to chase though and young kids make too many sudden and loud movements, so her ideal home is feline and kid-free.

If you're looking for a dog with a heart of gold, we think Dixi could be the match for you. Our application and all adoption information is at www.dibsrescue.com. Dixi’s adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
