Dillon's Story

Dillon was found running down Margaretha with a leash still attached, but nobody came for him. He is a beautiful brindle boy with lots of muscle and a big beautiful head. Dillon should be an only animal. Older kids with dog experience would be ok. He is a happy sweet boy. He prefers women and is nervous around men and loud noises. A gal with a quiet home would be Dillon's choice for his next human. He loves car rides and loves to snuggle.

All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org

When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.

Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.

If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. Applications are processed as quickly as possible. Please understand we have a small staff and applications are reviewed in the order they are received. Typical adoption fees for all animals are as follows. **Adoption fees for purebred, small breed, designer or high demand pets are subject to higher rates and are determined by management.** Puppies (1 year old and younger): $150 Dogs (older than 1 year): $125 Kittens (6 months old and younger): $100 Cats (older than 6 months): $100 Adoptions include age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter and rabies vaccination. If at the time of adoption the animal is too young to be altered, a voucher will be issued that is to be used at a participating vet office when old enough.
