Diesel's Story
Hi, my name is Diesel, and I am the longest resident at the rescue. I'm currently 11 years old, in good health and still get around well. I'm a loving boy who enjoys cuddles, attention, sitting with you, and riding in cars-adventures are still exciting for me, even at my age. I've lived at PCARR for seven years and have a unique lip curl, similar to some dogs' smiles. Unfortunately, people often mistake this expression for aggression, especially since I'm a Staffordshire terrier with pointed ears that I've been told are quite pretty. It's been difficult living as a breed that's often stereotyped, but I truly love deeply, especially those who care for me and are my handlers. A few years ago, I was taken to a rescue up north, which I enjoyed greatly. I rode in a convertible every day and spent time with compassionate people who appreciated my breed. Sadly, after moving into a foster home, I was misunderstood because of my facial expressions and ended up back in Georgia. Now, at 11 years old, all I want is a loving family and a caring home. I adore car rides, meeting new people, and I'm great on a leash and at the vet. I get along with most other dogs, though I prefer not to be around those who are overpowering or dominant—which is pretty typical for a male dog. I hope people see my videos playing with my ball and my photos and recognize that I have a heart as big as Texas and will give me a chance. One wonderful thing about PCARR is that we can go to homes on a trial basis to ensure it's a good fit for everyone, since happiness matters for the whole family. Please consider scheduling a meet-and-greet to get to know me—l look forward to meeting you and joining someone's special home!
Love,
Diesel
