Diego's Story

Diego is 6 years old but has the heart of a puppy. He is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and weighs about 55lbs. If it were up to him, he would lie on someone’s lap all day long while they pet him. He is very affectionate, loving, smart and sensitive as well. Diego was adopted to a very good home as a puppy, and was a very loved family dog, but due to his owner’s disability, his owner could no longer care for him.

He has settled in very well in his foster home and is a happy and playful boy. He plays well with his foster siblings and enjoys running around in the yard. He is a cattle dog and can at times herd the other dogs in the yard. He would be a wonderful addition to any loving home. Diego is currently on weight management Purina One dog food and could probably lose about 5lbs.

Diego would do very well in a home with a strong pack leader and be provided with the attention and work that a cattle dog requires. He is housebroken, responds to his name and knows many commands. His foster mom says she loves to take him on walks because he is the best. If children are present in the home it is recommended they are 10+ yrs old and respectful of dogs.

He is available to adopt in the Chicagoland area and is being fostered in a home. Appointments to visit him will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $250 which includes all appropriate vaccines and he is already neutered and microchipped.
