Diego's Story

Diego is roughly 7 years old and we believe he is a Cocker Spaniel mix. Diego had always know a life with a family and after 7 years, they abandoned him when he felt a little under the weather. They saw something wrong with him and chose to disregard his health and life. Thanks to our rescue partners in Mexico, Diego was able to get the vet care he desperately needed. Diego ended up having a benign mass on his testicles removed and he recovered in his wonderful foster home to get strong to come to Santa Rosa! He is on an inexpensive medication that he will need once a day for the rest of his life. It was also discovered that this sweet boy suffered a broken pelvis (that is now healed but his owners never got him help for), so he has a little bit of a limp, but that just means he has that much character!

Diego is wonderful with people, other dogs and children. He likes to sun bathe and sit at his person's feet. He loves love and snuggles.

Diego would do best in a home where someone will be home most of the time or with another dog as he doesn't really like to be alone.

Diego is fostered in Sonoma County, CA and will be available to adopt from Santa Rosa 95403 at a pre-approved, scheduled appointment. Due to COVID-19 we are NOT doing any meet and greets at this time.

If you are interested in adopting Diego, please email an application process to softpawsrescue@gmail.com. You can find our application at www.softpawsrescue.org/applytoadopt , please also attach pictures of the inside of your home (anyplace the dog would be) as well as your front and backyards.

Only applicants that have sent in ALL REQUIRED documents will be considered at this time, we thank you for your understanding.
