Diego's Story
Meet Diego!

Diego is an approximately 4-year-old mixed breed boy with a story we're determined to give a much happier next chapter.

We believe Diego is Kita's son, and the two spent years living outside on chains before coming to RARE. When we learned their owner was planning to euthanize them, we stepped in to make sure they had another option.

Diego arrived covered in fleas and in need of care, but those circumstances haven't defined the dog we've gotten to know. He's finally getting the opportunity to experience the things every dog deserves: safety, comfort, companionship, and a family of his own.

Diego is:
-Sweet and loving
-Good with dogs
-Good with cats
-Good with kids
-Has spent much of his life outdoors and is learning about life as an indoor companion
-Ready for a family who will give him patience, consistency, and plenty of love

Because so much of Diego's previous life looked different from that of a typical family dog, his adopter should be ready to continue helping him adjust and learn. He may have some catching up to do, but he has so much potential, and at only around 4 years old, he has plenty of time to make up for everything he's missed.

Diego and Kita been through a lot together, and now we're ready to see what the next chapter holds for each of them.

Diego's past may have started on a chain, but we'd really love for the rest of his story to include a couch, a family, and a home of his own.
