Dicey's Story

Hi, my name is Dicey! Everyone who meets me says I have the best ears, don’t you agree?! My foster parents think I’m very sweet and silly. I’m also super eager to please and will do anything for a treat! I thrive on praise. But my favorite thing is just to be a part of the action and near my people. Where ya going, I’ll come too! I’m a good natured girl at heart, and my tail is always wagging.

My fosters have figured out that it’s important to provide me with a lot of enrichment to keep me busy and happy. Is that why there are toys all over the place?! I especially love the ones with treats inside that I have to work to get out. My favorite thing to do in the yard is to play fetch and run zoomies. I’m so fast! I love my daily walks and do pretty well with my gentle leader on. And oh boy, when it’s time to settle in, I am a champion little snuggle bug!

I had a rocky start to my life, but I am really enjoying this home and family gig! I get lots of cuddles and kisses now. I especially love it when foster mama kisses me on my forehead. I like my canine foster brother a lot, but it took me a while to warm up to him. Now I just want to play with him, but sadly he’s not interested. I think I’d really enjoy a doggie sibling who would play with me, but I’ll need a slow introduction. I also think I’d be happy as an only pup! In any case, it’s best I’m not around smaller animals including cats - I have a very high prey drive.

One thing I’m still working on is meeting new people, it’s pretty overwhelming sometimes. But once I know you, I’ll be your best buddy!
