Diana's Story
Diana is a brindle and white puppy with a wide white blaze down her face, one brindle patch over each ear like a pair of mismatched sunglasses, and a white tipped tail that never stops moving. She is about 6 months old and roughly 35 pounds, still growing into her long legs, so she will likely settle in as a medium sized adult dog.

On her own at the shelter, Diana is a little shy and reserved. Put another dog beside her and she comes all the way out of her shell. She is very dog friendly and turns into a playful, goofy puppy who will happily spend an afternoon flinging a ball around the yard, then flop into the grass for belly rubs once she has worn herself out. She is also refreshingly soft in her manners. She is submissive with both people and other dogs, which means she is never the one starting anything. A home with a confident canine sibling is not just a nice option for Diana. It is what will bring out the very best in her.

She is already off to a strong start on her training. She knows sit, and she appears to be house trained, which is a wonderful head start for a dog her age. She is eager to please and quick to catch on, so a family who keeps up with basic training and a puppy class will watch her blossom fast.

She has not yet been tested with cats or with young children, so slow and supervised introductions are recommended. Diana is not yet spayed, and her spay will be completed before she goes home.

If you have room for a sweet, gentle young dog who just needs the right friend to help her shine, come meet Diana at Petersburg Animal Care and Control.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 3pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
