Diana

Diana is a brindle and white girl of about one to two years old and roughly 40 pounds, with a wide white blaze down her face, a brindle patch over each ear like a pair of mismatched sunglasses, and a white tipped tail that never stops moving.<br/><br/>If you already have a dog at home, this is the part to read. Diana is absolutely incredible with other dogs. Not tolerant of them, not fine with them. Incredible. She is gentle in how she plays, she is submissive with dogs and people both, and she is never the one who starts anything.<br/><br/>On her own at the shelter she is a different dog. Quiet, reserved, a little unsure of herself. Put another dog beside her and she comes all the way out of her shell and stays out. She will fling a ball around the yard all afternoon and then flop into the grass for belly rubs once she has worn herself out.<br/><br/>So we want to be direct about what she needs. Diana needs a home with another dog in it, and that dog needs to be a confident one. This is not a nice extra for her. A self assured canine sibling is what brings out the dog we see in the yard, and without one she tends to shrink back. If you have a steady dog who would like a friend, you are the home we are describing.<br/><br/>She is off to a strong start otherwise. She knows sit, and she appears to be house trained. At around 40 pounds she is an easy size to live with, and she is past the chewing and stumbling stage.<br/><br/>She has not been tested with cats or with young children, so slow and supervised introductions are recommended there.<br/><br/>We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
