Hi friends, my name is Dexter 💙<br/><br/>I’m just a 9-week-old full AKC black Lab puppy with the sweetest heart and a whole lot of love to give. When I came to EIO Rescue Ranch, everyone immediately noticed something wasn’t right with my front leg. After X-rays and specialist evaluations, we got heartbreaking news — somewhere along the way, my leg had been broken in multiple places and was never properly cared for.<br/><br/>Because of severe neglect before coming to rescue, the bones healed in a way that cannot realistically be repaired, even with orthopedic surgery. The kindest and best option for me is going to be leg amputation, which means I’ll soon become a proud little tripod pup. 🥺<br/><br/>But here’s the thing about me… I have absolutely no idea anything is wrong. I still play, love, cuddle, wiggle, and puppy around like every other baby. I’m full of kisses, happiness, and excitement for life. I don’t let my leg slow me down, and honestly? I probably never will.<br/><br/>Dexter is going to need a very special forever home — one that understands that having three legs won’t make him any less amazing. A family willing to love him exactly as he is and know that tripod dogs live incredibly happy, normal, adventurous lives.<br/><br/>He may have had a rough start due to human neglect, but we are determined to make sure the rest of Dexter’s story is filled with love, comfort, and everything a puppy deserves. 💙<br/><br/>Because to Dexter, he’s not broken — he’s just Dexter. 🐾
