Dexter's Story

This handsome boy is Dexter. He is 1 year and 3 months old and is neutered and vaccinated. During our walk today, we learned Dexter will need a strong owner because although he only weighs 44 pounds, he's a strong guy to walk! He is treat motivated and even knows how to sit for treats. We are trying to teach him to sit. He will learn eventually. ;-) Dexter is good with other dogs that can handle his playful energy. Dexter is very strong to walk on a leash. He loves to play and loves to be silly. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes microchip and first shots. If you already have a dog, bring them in with you for a 'meet and greet'. Mon.-Sat. 10-4

Berkeley County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

We usually are able to complete adoptions on the same day that a person decides that they would like to adopt a pet.. You must do a meet & greet with the pet and if you have other dogs you must do a meet and greet with your dos(s) and the prospective dog to be adopted. You must be 21 or older to adopt. If you rent where you live, we must speak to your landlord to get his/her permission for you to have an animal (especially a large breed of dog). Adoptions for dogs and puppies are $150, cats and kittens, $65, unless otherwise stated. All adoptions must be paid for in cash or credit/debit card only. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED .
