He was found dumped and taken to the police station. Turns out his mom had to move and handed Dexter to her brother, her brother couldn't handle him and turned him loose and called the police.

He did fine at the police station, he was a favorite,

With me he kennel trained fast. He does great over night in a kennel until your alarm goes off and magically he has to PEE NOW. Get up I need to PEE NOW and oh he will tell you.

He talks. this talking scares people, it sounds like he is going to attack you. He truly is not and there isn't a mean bone in his body, but he sounds terrible.

He needs to have something in his mouth at all times. Especially when he gets yard time and you are out there with him. We have toys all over the yard and we make sure he has one in his mouth at all times. He would never bite, but I do worry about being nippy thinking a hand is a toy.

If he has a toy in his kennel plan on burying it. It won't last, some of the plastic chew toy things for hard chewers have lasted but any other toy forget about it. No bed in his kennel it will be chewed up. He LOVES beef bones and pig ears. Treats he loves treats.

This is the type of dog you buy matching outfits for and lay around on the couch and watch movies.

Dexter is one years old and full of energy, but good energy, he loves his yard time. He has never once challenged the fence and loves to watch the delivery people come and go. I don't know what he would do if someone came into the yard well he was outside so our gate is locked when he is outside. I would more worry about the people freaking out, running and screaming and Dexter running after them thinking something was chasing all of them. I also don't want Dexter loose, as I said, there isn't a mean bone in his body but he is scary looking and he talks.

We need a person or a family who understands this is not an easy dog. He will need to be kenneled when people are over, he is a jumper and we work on that daily. He talks and he really isn't going to kill you. We walk him to his kennel, to outside and back. I have not dog tested him, I have not cat tested him. He will need no kids or much older kids. He has not been exposed to young kids. Again I don't think he would hurt anyone but I worry he would scare a kid or chew up toys. He is not loose in my house, we have dogs, and medical cats. I'm afraid he would think a cat is a chew toy. Not meaning to, just he has never been exposed to cats in his life.

Dexter is a little over one years old. he is not loose in the house, but has not peed in his kennel. I just can't call him house trained because I really don't know. He does tell me if he has to go potty through.

A fenced yard is required. I will not bend on this one. He needs to be kept safe.

No, I don't have additional photos. I can't get this child to stand still.

Dexter is neutered, UTD on DAPP vaccine and rabies, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas.

Dexter's adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED.

An approved application and an appointment is required.

If interested in meeting Dexter, please submit an application by copying/pasting this link into your browser: He is located in Rochester, WA

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001
