Dexter's Story

Meet Dexter (aka Bubba) - The Derp Dog Extraordinaire
If floppy limbs, questionable athletic ability, and an Olympic-level plop across the house sound like your dream dog.....congratulations, your soulmate has arrived!
Dexter hasn’t quite figured out how to navigate his large, noodle-like body, but he makes up for it with his spunky personality and sweet, timid heart. He’s the kind of dog who will snuggle you on his terms, then dramatically fling himself to the floor loud enough for the neighbors to hear.
Dexter’s Derpy Highlights:
•Spunky but timid. He hasn't had the best life and needs a family that is patient and can help him catch up on socializion time lost. But if bugs are involved? Forget it ..... he'll leave you to battle them on your own!
•Loves other dogs (big and small) and follows their lead like an intern trying not to get fired. Has done surprisingly well with a bearded dragon (aka the weirdest sibling test he could possibly ace). Met a cat once at the shelter he came from and showed no interest!
•Big kid approved, but timid with new people and loud sounds. So will need a home with kids that are dog savvy and will respect his space.
•Working on kennel training, potty training, basic commands and leash skills (currently: “panic statue” mode when asked to walk & just needs a slower pace).
Dexter is vocal, goofy, and behind the derp is a sweet boy who just needs patience, confidence building, and a family who finds joy in his quirks. Because honestly, what’s life without a little ridiculousness?
Apply to adopt Dexter:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TGLR/Dog
