He is generally very easygoing at home, has great house manners, and loves being close to his people.<br/><br/>He knows “sit” and “lay down,” waits patiently before eating, responds to his name, and has been working on his recall using the word “look.” He loves his walks and is a lovely walking companion.<br/><br/>Denzie is a big fan of belly rubs and ear scratches, but he can become overwhelmed with too much affection and will gently pull away when he has had enough. He needs people who can recognize and respect those cues and give him space when he asks for it.<br/><br/>Denzie has shown some resource guarding around things he values. His foster has been working with him on this, and he will need a home willing to continue helping him feel secure and building positive associations around his belongings. Because Denzie can be sensitive about his boundaries, we feel he would do best in a home without young children.<br/><br/>He has also had some really positive experiences with other dogs, including going on walks together and being playful and relaxed. He can sometimes be reactive when another dog gets too close, so thoughtful introductions and respecting his space are important.<br/><br/>Denzie is comfortable in his crate and may cry briefly when his people leave, but settles quickly. He also loves having access to outdoor space — one of his favourite things is simply sitting outside and quietly watching the world go by.<br/><br/>What Denzie needs most is a home with structure, consistency, patience, and people who will take the time to understand him.
