Denver's Story

Denver / M / 12Y / 7lbs / Papillon mix / Fostered in Owen Sound

Denver is a sweet, cuddly little gentleman who's looking for someone to call his very own person. He loves being your constant companion – lap sitting is his specialty. He enjoys being carried around, cozy naps, cuddle sessions, treats and learning new tricks (he's got "sit" down pat!). His adorable excited food dance will melt your heart.

He's the perfect mix of sweet and low-maintenance – though fair warning, this old man gets a bit grumpy if you disturb his beauty sleep! House training is a work in progress – currently getting 5-6 potty breaks daily. He is trusted free roaming when left alone. He does love to sleep in bed with his fosters so he would like this to continue at his forever home. He had a dental with 15 extractions while in our care. His blood work did show elevated liver enzymes but he received treatment and his most recent blood work is great. He is now being weaned off of liver support medications and once he has has finished those meds, he will require blood work. If that blood work is again normal, no other treatment is needed at this time. He has a luxating patella but it is not causing any issues.

Denver's ideal home is a quiet, relaxed environment with someone who is home often. He'd do well as an only pet or with calm canine companions. He hasn't met any cats but would likely be fine. He is good with kids 8+. Since he's a senior who prefers warmth and comfort over outdoor adventures (especially in cold weather), he's looking for someone who values cozy nights in as much as he does. His adoption fee is $500.

If you are interested in adopting Denver, please complete an adoption application on our website.
