Denver's Story
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: 1 yr.
Weight: 13 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: no
Energy level: unsure
Good with men/strangers: yes
Hypoallergenic: no

Special home requirements or medical: none

Additional info:

Denver is looking for his forever home! 🏠🐶

Denver is an adorable little guy who is loving life and his second chance! He can be super silly - doing zoomies, playing with toys, and rolling around wrestling with his bed. He can also be very cuddly - joining you on the sofa snuggling up and taking a nap. He likes a good scratching behind the ears, chest and of course a belly rub.

Denver knows when it’s time for his walk when he sees his leash. He gets very excited! This is amazing to watch since it took over a month to attach his leash without resistance. He is a really good walker and no longer afraid of the neighborhood “barker” behind the fence. He just trots on by. Denver is curious and likes to explore. He is potty trained, doesn’t mind his crate, does not chew things (toys excluded) and he’s not a barker. He is food motivated and loves a fun snuffle/lick mat for some stimulation.

Denvers confidence has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 6 weeks but there are some things he still needs patience with. He is shy when meeting new people and needs a slow introduction. He will eventually approach and bravely give you a good sniff and then go about his business. This goes for other dogs as well. He is not cat tested. Denver is not a fan of being picked up but it has been done. He can be startled easily by fast movements and loud noises but this seems to be getting better. He does relax quickly after realizing he’s safe.

We are so proud of how far Denver has come. We are confident he will flourish even more with kind patient humans showing him the love that he deserves.

If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green “Sponsor Me” button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give.
