Denver's Story

Meet Denver - Your Joyful Little Explorer

Denver is a sweet 3-year-old schnauzer/pug mix weighing about 20 pounds, and she is truly a little beam of sunshine. She loves nothing more than being snuggled, getting gentle pets, and simply being near her people. She enjoys attention but isn't pushy about it - she has a calm, grateful way about her that makes her easy to love.

She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has a special fondness for male dogs. In her foster home, she happily plays all day with her Schnoodle buddy, and it's clear that she would thrive in a home with another canine companion. Denver also loves her walks and is excited to explore the world after spending far too much of her life cooped up. Every outing feels like a new adventure to her.

Denver has great home manners: she's crate trained, about 95% potty trained, and already knows how to use a dog door. She's still learning her leash manners, but she's eager to please and making steady progress.

She does have one quirky habit her new family should be aware of - she sometimes nudges or lightly nips at the front of your feet when you walk. It's not aggressive, just an excited little terrier thing we are working on correcting, but it can make someone trip. Because of this, Denver will do best in a home with children over 5, and not with very small kids or elderly individuals who may be more vulnerable to falling.

Denver is joyful, sweet, and full of curiosity. After finally getting the chance to experience freedom and love, she's soaking it all in and can't wait to bring that same joy to her forever family.

We then move into a meet and greet with the potential adopters and available dog. A second meet day is set up with the other animal in the house to determine the right fit. A home check is then coordinated and then 14 day trial with their new furbaby.
