Denali's Story

Denali IS AVAILABLE (updated 12-11-2025). To meet any of our dogs, complete our online adoption application on our website: http://www.coastalgsr.org/dogs/denali Denali came to Coastal GSR along with his buddy Biscuit. Both were at a shelter together. The shelter said they weren't bonded but they are each other's best friend and favorite playmate. They live in the same foster home where there are other dogs - large and small - and they do well with all of them. Denali is house broken and crate trained. The crate isn't his favorite place but once inside, he is able to relax and be comfortable. His preferred place to be is with his foster mom and dad being petted and loved. Denali walks well on a leash with a prong collar. He is energetic and strong. While walking, he will shy away from strangers and wants to go about his business without meeting new people and dogs. While Denali was slightly more confident than his companion Biscuit when he first came to Coastal, it is apparent that he was mistreated and not socialized as a puppy. He has learned to trust his fosters and is happy and playful after being in their home for several months. He not only plays with Biscuit but will engage in play with the other larger dogs as well. Denali is not going to be a dog who rushes up to you and chooses you to be his owner. It will be up to you to meet and chose Denali. Once you decide that he is the one, you will need to be patient and work with him so he gains your trust. If you do that, and show hims lots of love, you will end up with a very loyal and loving dog. The minimum adoption donation is $375 for adults and $500 for puppies. This helps cover vet care, boarding fees, and other expenses. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
