Demby's Story

Hi there! I’m Demby—yes, that glorious Demby—and I’m on the hunt for my new home.

I’m a floofy, gorgeous 3-year-old guy, tipping the scales at a solid 70 lbs of pure hunkiness. I’ve got the kind of eyes you can get lost in and a presence that says, “Yep, I know I’m handsome.”

I walk very nicely on leash, though I might lean in with a little enthusiasm if I spot something interesting (people! dogs! life!). Don’t worry—I’m not reactive to people, dogs, or passing vehicles. I just like to check out the world.

When I’m off-leash with dog friends, I’m playful and high-energy. I like my play rough-and-tumble style (think neck grabbing and wrestling), so I need supervision and support to make sure everyone’s having fun. Slow, structured on-leash introductions help me shine and set me up for success with new canine pals.

A little honesty moment: I’ve shown times where I don't want to share my toys. I’ve had no issues with food or other items, but my future family should still be thoughtful and take precautions. Because of this, I’m best suited for a home with kids aged 13+ who can respect my space and my love of my toys.

Cats? Still a mystery.

My ideal home includes:
Humans who understand canine body language
People who are knowledgeable about resource guarding
A commitment to positive reinforcement training (I learn best that way!)
The ability to manage and supervise toy time (did I mention I love my toys)

If you’re looking for a loving, playful, floofy heartthrob who’s ready to keep learning and growing with the right guidance, I might just be your guy.

My adoption fee is $400 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can't wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family!

Demby
