Delta is estimated to be around 7–7.5 months old and currently weighs under 35 lbs. We expect her to grow into a medium-sized dog, likely around 40+ lbs once she fills out. Her medical records list her as a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, though without a DNA test, her breed can’t be confirmed.<br/><br/>Delta’s story began in August 2025 when she was found wandering as a stray in Texas. Though her past is unknown, she hasn’t let it dim her light. She’s playful, affectionate, and has a soft, thoughtful way of observing the world before jumping in. Once she feels safe, she leans in for love, wagging her tail and showing off her goofy, puppy charm. With time, routine, and gentle guidance, she has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion.<br/><br/>Like most young dogs, Delta is still learning her basics. She’ll need help with house training, leash manners, and navigating new situations with confidence. At first, she may be cautious, but once she trusts you, her joyful personality blossoms—think playful zoomies, cuddly moments, and curious sniffing adventures.<br/><br/>Delta has done well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend, though it isn’t required. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but given her age, slow introductions could be successful. Because she hasn’t spent much time around children, we recommend a home with older, respectful kids who understand puppy boundaries and behavior.<br/><br/>A home with a secure, fenced yard would be ideal for Delta—she loves to run, explore, and soak up sunshine between naps. However, we may consider apartments or condos for the right adopter willing to provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and one-on-one time. What matters most is that her future family is patient, understanding, and committed to helping her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be.<br/><br/>Shelters in Texas are overcrowded, and sweet pups like Delta are at risk simply because there aren’t enough homes. She deserves more than a kennel—she deserves love, stability, and a lifetime of adventure and belly rubs.<br/><br/>Health:<br/>Delta is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. She is too young for heartworm testing but is otherwise healthy and ready to make the journey to her forever home.<br/><br/>Adoption Requirements:<br/>• Yard required<br/>• No apartments or condos (case-by-case exceptions possible)<br/><br/>Transport Information:<br/>All of our dogs, including Delta, are currently located in Texas and will only travel once an adoption is finalized. Transport is included in the adoption fee.
