Hi, there. My name is Della and I am a beagle mix who is about 8-9 months old and I weigh about 25 pounds. My foster mom tells me that I'm a very calm girl for my young age. I do still love to run zippies around the yard and chase my tennis ball if you throw it for me. A Kong ball with a squeaker is my idea of fun! I love soaking up all the attention I can get and just adore being with people. I also get along with other dogs as long as they don't bully me. If they do, I will put them in their place! I know how to sit for treats but I am still perfecting the art of house training and not jumping up on people. I've already been to the animal shelter a couple times in my short life so I'm looking for a new family who can offer me a consistent schedule, basic training and patience. I know I'm smart and will learn to be your best girl!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. We also have reduced or waived adoption fees for many seniors, dogs with special medical or behavioral needs and other "slow to adopt" dogs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
