Delilah's Story

Delilah is a sweetheart that has been through a lot. She was found dumped pregnant in Turnbull Canyon in Hacienda Heights CA. Since then she's had and raised 6 puppies and bounced around between 4 fosters and boarding. We can't fully imagine what she's been through but she's terrified of men. In public settings she will create distance and just avoids them but in the household she's much more fearful. Even with her sweet and loving demeanor with all the females and kids she meets, men have been her biggest fear. She's worked with a trainer and we've also learned she's fine with men that have long hair. She knows how to sit, is crate trained, is being introduced to a place command and leave it. She does well on a potty schedule and even when she's had upset stomachs in the past she still always ask to go out. She loves chew toys and lumabones especially. She does well just hanging out as long as it's all females. She does fine with men in some settings but too much chaos and movement overwhelms her. She has done awesome on park and hike days. She doesn't try to run up to other people or dogs but squirrels do excite her. She is currently being fostered with a cat but when the cat engages in play with Delilah she becomes excitable and can be too much energy for the cat. She is scared of new dogs at first but does well with slow introductions. Her playful nature blends well with other social dogs. Whenever she has a large yard her zoomies are hilarious and almost replicate that of Scooby Doo. She's looking for a forever home and we hope it's with you!
