She is on the smaller side for a beagle, weighing in at just 18 lbs Her tail is a little shorter than normal which makes her even more adorable.

When Delilah arrived from Louisiana, she was feeling under the weather and never knowing love, she was sad. She had an ear infection and she needed to have a dental to have some teeth removed. It has taken some time, but this girl is now feeling like a brand-new dog. She is a happy old gal who is happily sharing her foster home with three other small dogs. She is a very easy going low energy girl. It has been discovered that Delilah is deaf.

Having come from a less than ideal living condition, Delilah has now really taken to comfy beds and regular meals and most of all the love that she deserves in her golden years. Her new family should have someone home most of the time. She would also do well with another gentle dog in the house.

She has done remarkably well with house training, we are about 90% there It is pretty easy to read her body language for her outdoor breaks, but she will use pee pads as well. She is fine to be left with the run of the house when left alone. She is very happy when you come home and she will sing to let you know how happy she is.

Delilah is also very vocal at feeding times. She’s just so grateful to have regular meals. Because of this, Delilah is not suitable for condo/apartment living. She sleeps all night in a dog bed beside her foster moms bed but would love to sleep on the bad as well, she does snore a little bit.

A fenced yard is a must for Delilah as her beagle nose works quite well. She is quite happy to wander the yard sniffing, she moves well for a senior girl. She will run and zoom when the mood strikes her. Delilah can be vocal when she gets on the scent of a rabbit with typical beagle vocals.

She walks well on leash. You will need to be prepared to stop and let her sniff scents that she finds. Long walks are not a requirement for this low key girl. She travels well in the car and is happy to accompany you.

Delilah loves everyone she meets, she will happily be picked up and cuddled. She is like a ragdoll and really loves this. She will sit with whoever wants to give her some love. She is a gentle old soul with other dogs. She has met our 7-month-old grandson and she seems to adore him. We think she would be fine with children who understand how to be gentle.

She is not cat tested but I don’t believe it would be an issue. We can test this if needed.

If you think you have the right home for Delilah to live out her final years in comfort and with all the love she deserves, please fill out an application for her foster mom to review.

To adopt this dog go to: http://forms.gle/Ev16pQeQ2zAZWLig6

Rat Terrier Rescue Canada Adoption Fees
Puppies under 1 year - $775
Young adult 1 year - 5 years $650
Adults 6 years - 9 years $575
Seniors 10+ $325

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter .
*EXCLUDING UNALTERED PUPPIES UNDER A YEAR.

The adoption fee also includes, at a minimum, vaccinations, de-worming, I.D. tag and microchip insertion.
