Delilah

Meet Delilah!

Delilah is a beautiful chocolate girl with a sweet personality who has so much to offer the right family.

Delilah was previously adopted and returned after four days when she struggled with the transition into her new home. We want to be clear that we don't view this as a failure on anyone's part. Her adopters did what they felt was best when they realized she was having a difficult time, and we are grateful they communicated with us and brought her back to our care.

This was also something we didn't anticipate at the time of her adoption. In her familiar environment at Noah's Arc, Delilah has been confident, happy, and comfortable. She is house trained in her current setting and does not chew when left unattended indoors. We simply hadn't seen how she would respond to such a major change in environment before.

Her return has given us a better understanding of what Delilah may need from her next home. She will likely benefit from a patient family who understands that settling into a new environment can take time, especially for a dog who is hearing impaired. A calm transition, consistency, and allowing her to adjust at her own pace will be important.

Delilah is:

Beautiful chocolate-colored girl
Spayed
Hearing impaired
Confident and happy in her familiar environment
House trained in her current setting
Does not chew when left unattended indoors
Looking for a patient family willing to give her time to adjust

We know the Delilah we see every day, and we want her next family to have the opportunity to get to know that dog, too. Her first adoption taught us more about her needs, and we're going to use that information to help make her next placement a better fit for everyone.

We're still very much in Delilah's corner.

About Noah's Arc Animal Rescue

Noah's Arc Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue serving East Tennessee since 1991. We are committed to rescuing homeless dogs and cats, providing the medical care they need, and helping them find loving, lifelong homes.

Our pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick prevention, dewormed, and examined by a veterinarian. Dogs are heartworm tested and cats are FIV/FeLV tested when age appropriate.

Meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment after an adoption application has been submitted.
