Delilah's Story

Hey there Delilah! This precious, 9 month old, girl has been through some stuff at her young age, but you’d never know it by her personality. She’s a friendly, resilient girl that does great with kids and other dogs. She would love to engage in play, but if the other dog isn’t feeling it, she’s happy to entertain herself elsewhere. Delilah was confiscated by a local CO shelter after someone was observed hitting her with a cane. Her leg suffered multiple injuries and was amputated. Delilah has recovered beautifully and is learning about life on three legs. She gets around well — particularly on carpeted surfaces and grass. Hardwood floors are harder for her to manage and clearly a lot of stairs wouldn’t be the greatest for her long-term. Delilah is doing very well with her house and crate training (although she does protest a bit at first). The couch is her throne and it’s a privilege, ehh actually a right, she demands in her new home. She’s obviously a labby girl, but she doesn’t have the high and destructive energy the breed has been known for.

Delilah is being fostered in Lone Tree, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.*

You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/delilah/.

You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
