Meet Deena! <br/><br/>Deena is a 3-year-old Curr mix weighing in at 42.8 pounds, and this girl is the perfect combination of adventurous, playful, affectionate, and just a little bit mischievous! <br/><br/>Deena has an outgoing personality and loves being part of whatever fun is happening. She's a medium-energy girl who absolutely loves getting good and dirty in the backyard with her best buddy, Bart. Once the adventures are over, Deena is more than happy to curl up on the couch with her person and soak up some affection. <br/><br/>She has been great with other dogs, although she does have a more dominant personality. She isn't out looking for trouble, but she's not afraid to let another dog know when they've crossed a line. She and Bart are especially close, and their favorite pastime is a good old-fashioned backyard tussle!<br/><br/>Deena has also done well with our inside cat. Most days she completely ignores him, although occasionally she gets curious and wants to investigate with a good sniff. <br/><br/>Now, about that adventurous streak... Deena is going to need a secure, escape-proof yard! She has never climbed a fence, but if she finds a spot she can squeeze or push through, she may occasionally decide to go exploring. Thankfully, she has always been easy to catch—except for the one time she decided to play chase with the neighbor's goats directly behind our backyard. No goats were injured during the shenanigans, but Deena clearly thought she had discovered her own personal amusement park!<br/><br/>Deena hasn't been around younger children, but she has been wonderful with my teenage son, so we feel a home with pre-teens and older would be the best fit.<br/><br/> Deena is housebroken, crate trained, and an excellent crate resident. She is very clean and quiet in her crate and walks great on a leash. She loves her supper, treats, and squeaky toys, but if you really want to make her happy, give her some quality time with her best bud Bart. <br/><br/>Deena is also currently experiencing some environmental allergies and is taking medication to help manage them. We're keeping a close eye on her and making sure she stays comfortable as she gets ready for her next chapter. <br/><br/>Deena and Bart both came from the same heartbreaking hoarding/cruelty case. After everything they've been through, it has been so rewarding to watch them learn what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for.<br/><br/>Deena is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, rabies, and preventatives. She has completed her crate rest and will be ready to begin her next chapter September 10th! <br/><br/>If you're looking for a fun-loving girl who can keep up with your adventures but is equally happy snuggled beside you on the couch, Deena may be your girl. <br/><br/> Adoption inquiries welcome!
