Debbie Harry's Story

Debbie Harry is the shyest of the pack. She probably had the hardest start to her life as she was given away at the much too young age of just 6 weeks old. It appears whoever took her may have hit and kicked her as she was extremely hand shy when she came to us several days after her siblings. She would squeal and run away if you even brushed her with your foot. Debbie is slowly gaining confidence and even with what has happened in her past she loves humans and wants to be near them. She will follow close behind you wherever you go and she needs to be able to see you at all times. She is going to need an extra gentle human who is willing to continue working with gaining her trust and making sure to be gentle and loving with her. If you can be that person you will have a Velcro dog as a reward.

The Rocker Girls had a rough first 7 weeks of life and were not treated kindly by humans. They have made huge strides towards coming out of their shells and are learning to trust and like humans. They will need adopters that will be kind and gentle with them as they are gentle souls that don’t respond well to harshness. As they are cattle dogs, they are going to need an active home that will keep their minds and bodies exercised and engaged for them to be successful well behaved dogs. They are also very vocal and love to “talk” a lot! With high energy breeds if the don’t get the exercise and mental stimulation they need it can lead to destructive behaviors such as digging, chewing, excessive barking and them lashing out.

They are available for pre adoption and will be ready to go home Feb 4th.
