Sometimes the hardest part isn't being lost...<br/>it's realizing no one is looking for you.<br/><br/>Dax...<br/>once had a name, a home, a family.<br/><br/>He was just a puppy when we pulled him from the euthanasia list in 2024.<br/>Just a baby with his whole life ahead of him.<br/>Three months later... he was adopted.<br/><br/>We thought that was his ending.<br/>His forever.<br/><br/>But 16 months later, on October 31st...<br/>a call came from the shelter in Mount Vernon.<br/><br/>They found him.<br/>Alone. Wandering.<br/><br/>The same boy who once left with hope...<br/>was now back with nothing.<br/><br/>When we reached out, we hoped for relief.<br/>Maybe someone had been searching.<br/>Maybe there was a mistake.<br/><br/>Instead, we heard it clearly-<br/>"I don't want him anymore."<br/>"I don't want it. I don't want it. I don't want it back."<br/><br/>And just like that...<br/>Dax lost his family all over again.<br/><br/><br/><br/>But here's what they didn't take from him:<br/><br/>His joy.<br/>His love.<br/>His belief in people.<br/><br/>Dax is still the same sweet, happy boy.<br/>A bundle of energy with a heart wide open.<br/><br/>He'll run, stretch, and play like life has never hurt him...<br/>and then-if you sit down and call him-<br/>he'll gently place his paws on your shoulders<br/>and just... stay there.<br/><br/>Quiet. Still.<br/>Soaking in every scratch, every second of love.<br/><br/>As if he's saying:<br/>"Please... don't let this go."<br/><br/><br/><br/>Dax is:<br/> Friendly and affectionate<br/> Smart and eager to please<br/> Learning his leash manners<br/> Clean in his kennel<br/> Full of life and energy<br/><br/>He just needs space to run...<br/>and someone willing to guide him.<br/><br/>Someone who won't give up on him.<br/><br/><br/><br/>We couldn't say no to him once...<br/>and we won't say no again.<br/><br/>But we can't do this without you.<br/><br/> Dax needs a foster or adopter<br/> He needs patience, and love<br/> He needs someone who will choose him-forever this time<br/><br/>Because no dog should hear<br/>"I don't want you anymore"...<br/>and still have to believe in humans.<br/><br/>...and yet, Dax does.<br/><br/> Apply to foster or adopt<br/> Be the reason his story finally ends in love<br/> Or donate to help us continue saving dogs like Dax<br/><br/>NETRO - Rescuing Love
