Dax 's Story
Meet Dax! Dax is a 6 year old male German Shepherd Dog who is looking for his new forever home!

Dax was surrendered because his owner had to move and was unable to take him with. This was the only owner he has ever had, so we want his adopters to understand that he might need extra time to adjust to all of the changes when he's rehomed. Going from his only owner, then into a shelter, and then into a new home can be very overwhelming for a lot of dogs, so he may need extra patience and understanding.

From what we're told by his previous owner, Dax was potty trained and used to living as an indoor pet. He loves his toys, and enjoys things like walking (does sometimes pull on leash), jogging, hiking, running in fields, swimming, and playing fetch (although he doesn't always bring it back). That being said, he's described as having a moderate energy level now that he's older and may not need super high-intensity exercise as much these days.

Dax is described as friendly with respectful children, and that he will excuse himself from the area if younger kids overwhelm him. True to his GSD nature, he's protective and loyal. At one time, he lived with other dogs and was the 'calm alpha' of the household. He knows commands like Sit, Down, Come and Stay.

Dax is an overall very sweet, loyal & obedient GSD who is hoping to find a home to spend the rest of his days. If you're a lover of the breed and understand their needs, we'd love to introduce you! All meet n' greets are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:
https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564
*Please email this application to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com

Dax is neutered and will be brought up to date on vaccines prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $200.
