Dawson’s Story<br/>Dawson has been patiently waiting for his forever family since arriving at Second Chance Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary in April 2024. Today, this charming 7-year-old boy is healthy, happy, and ready to finally have a home of his own.<br/><br/>Personality<br/>Dawson is a quirky, affectionate companion with a gentle heart and wonderful manners. He loves being part of everyday life and happily follows his people from room to room just to stay close. Whether it’s heading out for a walk or run, relaxing on the couch, enjoying belly rubs, or carrying around his favorite stuffed toy, Dawson is simply happiest spending time with his humans.<br/>He’s a social guy who does great with other dogs, enjoys cats, and does well with respectful children. Dawson is also a doggy daycare pro and has earned the Hounds Town Seal of Approval — proof of just how well he interacts with others!<br/><br/>Since coming into rescue, Dawson has made incredible progress and continues to grow into a confident, secure companion. He is crate trained, settles nicely when left alone, and has developed strong routines that help him thrive in a home environment.<br/><br/>What Makes Dawson Special:<br/>Dawson was born with a congenital limb difference that gives him a unique tripod-style gait — but don’t tell him he’s any different! He keeps up just fine on walks and adventures and approaches life with enthusiasm and determination. This will give us the opportunity to properly introduce new pets to each other, as well as teach appropriate integration techniques. Because of this, we only adopt in the Greater Fort Bragg, NC and surrounding areas.
