Dawn's Story

Dawn | 3 m/o female | 9 pounds | Cattle Dog / Aussie / Terrier Mix

Meet Dawn! This smart, curious, and energetic sweetheart has been adjusting wonderfully to city life. Like most young puppies, she's still learning the ropes and is currently working on her house training, using pee pads while she builds confidence with outdoor potty breaks.

We were just able to start taking Dawn on outdoor walks this past weekend, and while she can be a little apprehensive at first, once she's outside her curiosity and playful energy take over. She's eager to explore the world around her and will likely love adventures as she becomes more comfortable.

Dawn has been great with her sibling Misty and seems excited about meeting other dogs once she's fully cleared for introductions. She's also met young children (ages 2 and 4) and, while a bit shy at first, quickly warmed up with a few treats and gentle patience. With adults, she's been friendly and affectionate from the start.

While Dawn has plenty of puppy energy, she's also a total cuddle bug who loves a good nap and happily settles into your lap when playtime is over. Her favorite activities include playing fetch with her tennis ball and chewing on her bully sticks.

She's currently working on crate training and has already started picking up basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come here.” With continued training, structure, and love, Dawn is sure to grow into an incredibly loyal and wonderful companion.

Vaccinated for age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped. Scheduled for neuter on 3/2 in Lower Manhattan. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.

To apply to foster/foster-to-adopt to adopt Dawn, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
