Dasher - Lab pup boy's Story

Meet Dasher, our happy 11-week-old Lab mix pup (as of Dec 1st). He is cuddly, playful, sweet, smart, super friendly and full of love to give. He loves to play with other dogs, big and small, and is used to playing with our kids who love carrying him around and cuddling with him. At 18lbs, he is the medium sized pup of the litter, though he is still small compared to similar age Lab puppies so we think he is mixed with a smaller breed given his size, fluffy coat and curly tail. He is the perfect balance of playful and cuddly, enjoying one just as much as the other. He is definitely not alpha, letting his bigger sister Noel take that role in the pack. He’ll usually let his siblings eat first before he approaches the food bowl and is pretty accommodating to other dogs’ preferences and play style. It’s hard to believe that the strong, happy and thriving pup we have now is the same scared pup we found along with 2 of his litter mates abandoned in a box in a culvert at 5 weeks of age. He weighed only 2.5lbs, had not been weaned, had fleas, mange and worms, and couldn’t stop shivering. For the past 4 weeks, he has been treated for all these conditions at his foster home and under veterinary care and is back to full health, almost ready to find his forever family. I say ‘almost’ because he still needs to finish all his puppy shots and be neutered before being available for adoption, but he will have those completed and will be ready to find his forever home around the first week of December. Until then, we can certainly take applications and schedule meet and greets if you think he might be the missing piece of your family. If you are interested in Dasher, the first step is to fill out an application at the link below. It is not a commitment to adopt him, just a means of introduction. Once we receive your application, his foster parents will reach out to discuss the process and plan a meet and greet.<br/>https://ffar.wufoo.com/forms/application-to-adopt-a-dog-from-ffar-plano-tx-copy/

Furry Friends Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
We are a new group and we will be rescuing more as we recruit new foster homes - so check back often! We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well as ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for its new family.  A win/win situation.  We do home visits for our dogs. Our Adoption Fees are $160 for cats and $250 for dogs. All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required. You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website. All our cats and dogs live in foster homes so we don't have a physical shelter for you to visit.  If you are interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, just send us a an email or fill out an Adoption Application on our website.
