DASH's Story
Dash is currently at the Memphis Animal Shelter (ID: MAS-A-52401). With the snow and ice storm coming, Dash was fortunate to get a temporary foster and stay safe, warm, and cared for. However, once the shelter reopens, he will be returned and placed back into the kennel. He arrived as an owner surrender, and I'd like to offer some context that may help him find the right placement.

Dash has been in foster care since October. My son had plans to adopt him permanently, and made sure he was fully vetted and neutered. He is a loving, people-focused, high-energy dog who brings joy and enthusiasm to every day. Unfortunately, my son lives in an apartment with another dog and wasn't prepared for the level of exercise and enrichment he truly needs. With the right outlet for his energy, Dash will thrive.

Because I know how stretched rescue groups are today, I'm offering a $500 donation to any rescue that pulls Dash and helps facilitate his adoption into an appropriate home. I'm available for questions and will support his placement in any way I can.

Now for the fun part...

Meet Dash! He's about one year old, 68 lbs, and every bit as handsome as his name suggests. He got his name to match his foster brother, Speedy - and it turns out "Dash" fits both his looks and his personality.

Dash brings the fun. He has that classic puppy energy, loves playtime, and thrives with dogs his size. He's not interested in being the alpha; he prefers to go with the flow and make everyone feel welcome. Even without much early stability, he's showing real promise as he settles into routine, structure, and affection.

We adore that Dash makes belonging look easy, and we're excited to help him write his next chapter - one where his potential meets opportunity.

#MemphisTN #ShelterDog #NetworkingForRescue #UrgentNetworking #RescueDog #OKToTransport #OwnerSurrender #LargeBreedRescue #AdoptDontShop #DogRescue
