Dante's Story

Meet DANTE!
Dante is a 60 lb husky mix, with two different color eyes and a quiet demeanor.
He is about 2 years old, gets along with and respects indoor / outdoor cats, enjoys cuddling on the couch, or laying at your feet in his bed. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to chase, play and tug.
He is learning to let go of the rope so you can throw it, he just needs consistent work. He is pretty good on a leash but could use more consistent training.
He knows sit, come and learning stay. He is talkative when he is excited, such a husky trait, to see you or when he wants to play. But he is generally quiet and doesn’t usually just stand and bark. He loves both the indoor and outdoors, he likes to lie in the dirt or his doghouse, but also loves his house and sleep in his exercise pen (crate) or at the end of your bed each evening/night.
He can crawl over a gate/fence that has a 2×4 wood rail but hasn’t tried with poles or cattle fence. Like typical Huskies he wants to wander freely through the world, so we do require that he is always under supervision. Either with a fence yard or a home that only walks on leash.. That is how we got him in the first place, as a stray.
He is good with kids and over all a gentle dog.
Dante is on a diet to lose a few pounds as his previous papa fed him a bit too much.

Dante is being fostered in Chehalis to keep him up on his learning and of course we would love to find him a home anywhere in Washington State.

If you are interested in adopting Dante please submit an adoption application via our website, www.valhallarescue.org/adopt you can also contact us for more information. His adoption fee helps to insure that we can continue to help dogs like dante.
