Danny's Story

Danny was brought in as a stray and never reclaimed. He is a people-loving dog who truly shines as the center of attention and is great with new people. Danny prefers to be the only pet in the home, as he does not do well with other dogs or cats-but if you're looking for a devoted best friend, he's happy to fill that role.
Danny is potty trained and understands home routines. He does well being left alone for the most part, though he may grab random items to chew on if given the opportunity. He rides well in the car and walks well on a leash, though he can pull a bit at times and would benefit from continued leash training and gentle guidance.
Affection is Danny's love language-he loves cuddles, attention, and playtime, and he gets very excited when spending time with his people. His favorite way to show affection is through big hugs, and once he bonds with you, he is incredibly loving and devoted.
Danny would thrive in a home where he can soak up all the love and return it tenfold as your one-and-only companion. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
