Daniel's Story

Meet Daniel, affectionately known as Dano — a two-year-old shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a soul that's learning just how wonderful the world (and people!) can be. This sweet boy has made incredible progress in a short time and is blossoming more every day. He's discovered the joy of head scratches, full-body rubs, and brief but meaningful snuggle sessions, and he's now seeking out affection with growing confidence.

Dano is a cozy connoisseur who adores fluffy blankets and pillows. He's highly food motivated and absolutely enthusiastic about treats, yet always polite and gentle when taking them from your hand. Playtime is becoming a favorite, especially with large Kongs and rope balls. With his dog foster siblings, Dano loves a good game of tug-of-war and can happily wrestle and play for hours.

This big guy also has a playful, athletic side. He's a true runner who lives for zooming around the yard, playing chase with his dog friends, or joyfully rolling in the grass — snow included! When the fun winds down, he's content to relax nearby and soak up the calm.

Dano has learned that other animals can be trusted and adored. He's very close with his canine foster siblings and even shares a special bond with his dog-savvy feline foster brother. While he isn't quite ready for walks or car rides yet, Dano shines as a homebody companion. He's happiest sitting at your feet or curled up close on the couch while you read, work, or unwind. If you enjoy a good TV binge, Dano will be right there with you — especially if there are dogs on the screen!

Because he gains confidence by watching and learning from other dogs, Dano will thrive in a home with at least one calm, older canine companion who can continue to guide him and help him feel secure.

With patience, kindness, and the time to build trust at his own pace, Dano will continue to grow into an incredibly loyal and loving best friend. If you're ready to give him that chance, he's ready to give you his heart.

If you are willing to give him ample time and allow him to establish a trusting relationship with you, Dano will continue to flourish into your best friend.

If Daniel could be the perfect addition to your home, please submit an adoption application on our websitre: furlovehaven.org

** Please understand that we are a volunteer-run organization and we do our best to respond in a timely manner. Due to the high volume of applications, emails & phone calls we receive, we may be unable to respond to everyone.

The first step is to submit an adoption application.

We will review your application and you may be contacted if this animal miught be a good fit.

Please be aware, submitting an application is not a guarantee, but if we think you might be a potential fit, someone will contact you within 72 hours.
