Dane's Story
Dane is a one-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with Lab and Springer Spaniel. Recently neutered, Dane has a natural aptitude for the outdoors with incredible hunting instincts, yet he’s also an affectionate snuggle bug indoors. If you’re looking for a loyal and adaptable companion, Dane might be the perfect match.

Dane shows outstanding potential as a hunting dog. He’s had early exposure to pheasant scent, responded well to off-leash training, and honors other dogs’ points with ease. Highly responsive to e-collar tone correction, he’d be a fantastic partner for someone looking to jumpstart a young dog into the hunting world. Raised around young children and accustomed to toddlers, Dane is wonderfully gentle and loves to cuddle with the little ones. His calm demeanor indoors provides the best of both worlds, making him a natural fit in a family setting.

Dane thrives on companionship—whether it’s with people, other dogs, or both. He’s very social and even seeks out other pets for a cozy snuggle. He would do best in a home with another pup! With typical GSP "velcro" behavior, he’ll want to stay by your side and be involved in family life. Dane is food-motivated and responsive, already knowing commands like sit, stay, come, and kennel, and he’s quickly picking up new ones, making him highly trainable.

Indoors, he’s comfortable free-roaming without issue and is non-destructive. He kennels well during travel and at night and gently whines to go outside. While he’s still learning to use a doggie door, he was trained with a bell for outdoor breaks, which could easily be reintroduced.

It’s worth noting that Dane is prey-driven. He’s great with other dogs but is still working on his response to cats. With consistent training, he’ll make good progress, though a cat-free home or one with ongoing training may be ideal. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, high-energy hunting companion who also melts into a sweet couch buddy, Dane is waiting to meet you!

?
?APPLY NOW!!!

If you think you could be a great fit for him, please go to our website and under forms is the adoption agreement, please review this, if this looks okay please proceed with the adoption application.
