Dana's Story

Hi there, friends! My name is Dana, and I'm a sweet and lovable three-year-old Shepherd mix, weighing about 53 pounds. I haven't been spayed just yet, but I'm in great health and don't have any special needs just lots of love to give!

I'm a gentle girl with a big heart and would make a wonderful addition to a family. I'm especially great with kids and love being part of a family's daily life. One of my favorite things to do is relax in the sunshine I'll happily head out to the backyard a few times a day just to soak it all in. Oh, and I love chatting with my toys (especially my squeaky piggie!) and chewing on something when I get a little bored.

When it comes to training, I've got the basics down! I'm fully potty-trained and crate-trained. I do pull a bit on the leash, but I'm learning more every day especially when I get some encouragement and belly rubs. I'm very motivated by attention and love being showered with pets!

I'd be happiest in a home with a loving family especially if there are kids to play with and snuggle. I get along well with other dogs who have a similar energy and enjoy playing. Cats don't really bother me, so I could do just fine with them, too.

My energy level is moderate I'm always up for some fun, but I'm also perfectly content lounging around after a bit of daily exercise. I'm also totally fine being left alone and don't have any separation anxiety.

All I'm looking for is a forever home where I can be loved and give lots of love in return. Could that be with you? If so, my adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
