Dan's Story
Meet Dan: The Texas Survivor Who Will Warm Your Heart 🐾
From a stray in a rural Texas town to becoming a NW dog, Dan is a testament to resilience. Once facing the unthinkable at a full shelter, he was saved by a dedicated foster—and now, he’s ready to spend the rest of his life showing his gratitude to a family of his own. He's been in Beaverton since Valentine's Day and is looking for his forever family. Could that be you? He'd love to meet you.

The Perfect Balance of Play & Peace
Dan is a 2-year-old Cattle Dog mix weighing a sturdy 40 pounds. He’s a "slow and steady" kind of guy who likes to take his time getting to know you, but once he’s in, he’s all in!

The Ultimate Office Assistant: Work from home? Dan is your guy. He loves taking long naps by your side and will happily snooze through your Zoom calls.

A+ Student: Dan is highly food-motivated and thrives on positive reinforcement. He has a solid "Come here" recall.

Adventure Partner: He walks well with his harness and leash on. He loves his daily walks, sniffing out the neighborhood news, and always "checking in" with his person to make sure you're still there. Dan recently went to the Oregon Coast for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. He did a great job at the outdoor coffee shop while at the beach.

Social & Playful: He currently lives with a foster brother and loves a good game of tug-of-war. When his canine friends are busy, he’s perfectly happy entertaining himself with his toys.

Why Dan is "The Best Boy":
Dan is an intelligent, adaptable companion who doesn't need coaxing—he’s a non-fussy eater, a loyal shadow, and a dog who truly communicates his needs. He has expressive eyes and will tell you what he's thinking. We love his striking coat coloring and pattern. Dan is happy to do what his people are doing and is down for being a couch potato if that's what you're up to...or go on a grand adventure outside with you.

Health & Wellness:
Dan has completed all his veterinary care and is officially ready for his forever home!
--Neutered & Microchipped
--Heartworm Negative
--Fully Vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella)
--Current on all flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Ready to give Dan the chance he deserves?
Dan is looking for a home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved. In return, he promises to show you his gratitude every single day.

👉 Apply to Adopt Dan Here: https://throwadogabone.org/adopt.
