Dakota is a 4 year old female Am Staff mix who has a lot love and affection to give. She is smart, affectionate, curious, playful, loyal, and protective of her loved ones and home. She loves to be with her humans and included in the family outings whether it's taking long walks, riding in the car, or just cuddling on the couch and, yes, she thinks she is a lap dog. Also, be prepared to get lots of kisses all the time! Although it is her nature to be a calm, chill dog, she gets very energetic when she has the "zoomies" or is playing with her favorite rope toy. <br/><br/>Dakota had a rough start. At a year old she found herself in a high kill shelter on the euthanasia list. Then she went to stay with a foster and was attacked by another dog. When she returned to rescue she was offstandish and didn't want to be around other dogs. We have worked with her and she is mostly back to her old self. She is great with puppies, smaller dogs, and older dogs.
