Dakota (aka: Kota)'s Story
This is Dakota, aka: Kota. He came to us as a timid little guy whose family went through a lot of unexpected loss. The sanctuary was a soft place to land. He has since gained confidence, and we see his personality shining through. Dakota is up to date on vaccines, just had a dental with extractions...his little mouth only has 8 teeth remaining. He is 11 lbs of cheeky chihuahua goodness. He LOVES to sit on laps and an ideal day forhim would be to go for a walk and then binge watch some Netflix shows with someone. Kota now gives a few grumbles to other dogs if he thinks he has to share a person's affection. However, when told no he responds very quickly and relaxes. He truly just wants to please people. So if he knows what's expected of him, he will thrive. He does well with other dogs when out in the yard running around or lounging indoors. He is food aggressive, so if you have other dogs then he just needs to be separated for feeding time. No sharing food bowls. He doesn't resource guard water bowls. That said, he'd do great as an only dog OR in a home with dogs who are relaxed around him. He's friendly with cats, does very walking on leash, and is a proper gentleman at the vet. He loves kids and giving kisses. He has arthritis in his hips and knees so he's on a once daily medication to keep him comfortable and spry. If you're looking for a loving dog with a hint of sass - he's your boy! Reach out if you want to know more or if you're considering opening your home to this little man.
