Daisy Pearl's Story
Look at this doll face! Little Daisy Pearl began her life in the usual way, a happy, active puppy, but once she was weaned and given away, her fragile life spiraled downward. The family who took this baby had no means of affording her and due to lack of nutrition, she immediately developed rickets which is caused by a Vitamin D deficiency. Rickets causes weakening of the bones in puppies and the inability to walk as the bones will not support the weight of the puppy. It is a frightening condition to owner and puppy. Fortunately, a visitor to the family saw the puppy and the family allowed her to take the puppy. After x-rays and other tests, the diagnosis was rickets and OOTW was asked to help. If caught quick enough, Rickets can last from a few hours to a couple of days, however, little Daisy Pearl was ""crippled"" for days and days! But with good nutrition and sunshine, this precious girl has made a full recovery and is able to keep up with the big dogs now!

Daisy Pearl is a blue heeler mix who is about 11 weeks old at the time of this post (5/1/23). She would love a home where she can spend some time outdoors and a playmate would be a big bonus to her. This breed is considered ""active"", so an active family is a must. She has had her first shot and her kennel cough vaccination and has been wormed. She is available for adoption now, but we will be following her for several more months to get all of her vetting finished up (more shots, spay, microchip, rabies shot, etc.) Her adoption fee is $150.

Don't delay, apply today! We expect to have a lot of interest in this sweet girl!

To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application.

Once your application has been processed, we'll be in contact.

We cannot schedule a meet and greet without a completed application.

Please go to http://ootwrescue.org/adoption to fill out an application or review our Adoption Process.

Cat adoption fee is $100.
