Daisy (OH)'s Story

Daisy – 4 years old, located in Ohio
PRO ID: 251093-P-B-GA
Intake Date:11/2/25
Available Date: 12/17/25

Let me introduce myself as Daisy. A beautiful liver and white Pointer with heavy ticking in my coat and pretty dilute ticking on my ears. I’m approximately 4 years old and was found as a stray in Georgia, October 2025. Fortunately PRO quickly coordinated my rescue and I have been enjoying life in my Ohio foster home since November.

When I first arrived, I was very unsure about a lot of noises that were all strange to me. I didn’t even like the sound of car doors shutting. I have learned now that getting in my foster moms ride means we are going somewhere exciting. I even like seeing the doctor and all the girls at the veterinarian hospital.

New sounds in the house still make me jump occasionally, like if something drops on the floor. I keep trying to be brave. The sight of a broom or snow shovel can make me nervous too. Maybe I wasn’t always treated very well in my former life and those things remind me. Despite that, I am very loving and look for affection. Almost a Velcro dog who wants to be wherever my people are. I did quickly learn the pleasure of my spot on the couch and sleeping on the bed! I am patient while my meals are prepared and literally run to my crate with great enthusiasm to eat. Yes I am crated during the day as my foster mom works part-time. I get a treat each morning in there before she leaves. The company of the other dogs in the same room helps me while she’s gone to stay settled and calm. House training has been going great! Foster mom takes me out or I tend to start pacing near the door when I need to go outside. The resident dogs were very helpful in my training too!

The best and most rewarding activity I learned was going on walks in the neighborhood. It was very scary in the beginning. Cars, trucks and general city noises weren’t what I was used to. Loud motorcycles are nerve wracking. Together, my foster mom and I started slowly and every week we went a little bit farther until I was spending more time sniffing or looking for squirrels than worried about noise. She kept talking and reassuring me that I was doing so well. We walk everyday, weather permitting. I get so excited when my walking harness and leads are put on. I would walk for hours if we could. In my new home I may start out again somewhat timid. Please give me some time and patience while I acclimate to unfamiliar sounds around and in your home.

I’m not high maintenance when it comes to exercise. I like my foster mom and her resident dogs out in the backyard with me when I do my business or just sniff around. Sometimes I just go to the door on my own to be let in, or come when my name is called. I have honored the fence around my yard with no problems.

Speaking of resident dogs, it would be most helpful if there was another friendly, confident (but not dominant) dog in a new home. Perhaps close to my size to teach me the ropes and schedule. I might like having the zoomies with them outside!

Because I’m such a gorgeous sweet girl, my foster mom says I could be a “foster failure”! But she knows there is a perfect home out there who will love and care for me so she can continue to help other dogs. Daisy lives in an all adult home without cats or children. No first hand knowledge of how she would react or behave with them. Daisy is spayed, current on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her foster mom would love to discuss Daisy further with interested approved adopters.

TRANSPORT AVAILABLE TO APPROVED HOMES!
