Daisy Moo Cow's Story

Meet Daisy Moo Cow, a beautiful two-year-old terrier mix with a personality as unique as her name.

Daisy is truly a sweetheart. Beneath her cautious exterior is a gentle, loving soul who wants nothing more than to feel safe and connected to her person. Once she trusts you, her affectionate nature shines through in the sweetest ways.

When Daisy first came to us, she was extremely skinny, feral, and covered in ticks. It's believed she had been surviving on her own for quite some time. Because of her past, the world can still feel overwhelming. She is working hard on building her confidence and is slowly making progress each day. Some days she feels brave and open to new experiences; other days she can be absolutely petrified. That inconsistency is simply part of her healing journey.

Daisy is house-trained and ready to continue learning in a home of her own.

She is Lyme positive, which is not uncommon in dogs who have lived outdoors. She is being treated, and many dogs go on to live completely normal, happy lives after treatment. Our team is happy to answer any questions about her diagnosis and care. (treatment will be covered by DHS)

Daisy will need a calm, patient, and understanding adopter who is committed to continuing her training and helping her feel secure. She must be the only animal in the home, as she does best without other pets around. She would also do best in a home without young children, at least until she fully understands that she is safe and settled.

All of her behaviors are manageable with time, patience, consistency, and love. Dogs like Daisy are why we do what we do. Now she just needs someone willing to give her the peaceful, stable life she ,deserves and probably never gotten before. An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.
Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
