Daisy's Story

Meet Daisy! This sweet, 8-year-old long-haired dachshund is ready to bring love and joy to her forever home. Despite some health challenges, Daisy’s loving spirit and resilience shine through. She’s managing arthritis with anti-inflammatory medication, laser therapy, and acupuncture, which have already improved her comfort. Due to her unique conformation—her back legs are 2.5 inches taller than her front, causing her to tuck her sacrum when walking—swim therapy will likely play a key role in keeping her strong and mobile.

Daisy is also on a weight loss plan to help her reach her healthiest self, and she’ll need a dental once she’s stronger. She’ll be ready for adoption in late December or early January, with foster-to-adopt available for a local home. Daisy is full of love and is eager to find a family who will support her care and celebrate her journey. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion, Daisy is ready to bring joy to your life!

Please note that for most of our dogs we are require a home and a fenced yard. To be considered for Daisy, please apply on our website:

https://www.portlanddachshundrescue.org/adoptionform

Portland Dachshund Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
OUR CRITERIA There's nothing better than a successful match. We like to explain the process of finding the right rescue dog as being similar to online dating: You will want to check our site often to see who is new, read each bio and reach out if you think they might have found someone special. Our adoption team is highly skilled at helping you find a dog with the right personality that will fit your family and lifestyle. Occasionally, we receive multiple promising applications for a dog and ultimately match the dog with the home where we think they will do best. We are committed to helping you find a dog even if you don't "match" on your first attempt. We would love nothing more than to help you find the forever dog of your dreams. Although we like to tailor each match, we do have some basic criteria we look with respect to adoptive homes: *Homes should be non-smoking *Have a securely fenced yard *Ability to commit to yearly dentals and shots for the pet *Willingness to purchase ramps and pet stairs to safeguard the dog's back
