Daisy's Story

Meet Daisy — Petite Package, Happy Personality!

If you love a happy, wiggly Shepherd who is always glad to see you, meet Daisy! This petite 4-year-old German Shepherd has a whole lot of love packed into her smaller frame, and she's ready to find her forever family.

Daisy is back with ShepHeroes after 3.5-plus years with her adoptive family due to changes in the household. She's been very loved, and it shows in the wonderful companion she's become.

Affectionate, happy, and full of wiggles, Daisy loves being with her people. She's the kind of girl who brings a little extra joy to everyday life, whether she's greeting you with enthusiasm or simply hanging out by your side. She enjoys companionship but is also comfortable being home alone while her people are at work. No need to feel guilty about heading out for the day!

Daisy has experience living with an older German Shepherd, enjoyed frequent playdates with other dogs, and had kids in her life. She's a social girl who grew up in a busy, loving household.

Another reason to love her: Daisy has excellent household manners! She trained with Sit Means Sit in Modesto, is trusted free in the house, is crate-trained, rides nicely in the car, and knows her e-collar training. She's past the puppy stage and brings years of home experience to her next family.

Like all good Shepherds, Daisy still needs an outlet for her energy. Regular exercise, walks, playtime, and opportunities to stretch those legs will help keep her happy and fulfilled. Give her a chance to burn off some steam, and she'll be ready to enjoy quality time with her favorite people.

Daisy's story with ShepHeroes began when she and her six littermates (Boss, Drax, Echo, Hunter, Marmaduke, and Paris) came to rescue as day-old orphans after their mama sadly passed away. She grew up surrounded by care and canine companionship, and now this much-loved girl is ready for another family to call her own.

Looking for a happy, affectionate companion with great manners and a whole lot of love to give? Daisy might just wiggle her way into your heart!

Let's make her next chapter her forever chapter. Apply to adopt Daisy.

Have you seen our YouTube channel? We would really appreciate your support by subscribing, liking, and commenting on our videos of adoptable shepherds in action. You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and our new Threads account, where we share lots of news and updates about our shepherds.

Since ShepHeroes is a foster-based rescue, we always need more foster homes. Many shepherds in our local shelters need a fresh start. Would you open your home and share your life to help shepherds find new families? You provide the love, and we will take care of everything else. Saying "yes" today truly saves a life. Fill out the form at https://www.shepheroes.org/foster-form, and we will contact you soon. ShepHeroes's Adoption Policy
Our dogs are available to meet approved adopters through appointments and at various posted events throughout Northern California. Since each GSD we rescue has been let down by their previous caregivers, we are committed to ensuring that their second chance is a forever one. Our adoption application allows us to find the best possible match for them and for you. The decision to adopt a pet is an important one that we take seriously. Please take the time to read the questions and carefully complete the application. Please include full explanations with as much information as possible - this will help us with the review of your application If renting, your landlord's consent is required to proceed with your application. Our landlord permission form is embedded in the application and is required before your application can be processed. We primarily assist at-risk dogs and serve adopters in Northern California. We are currently focused in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo, and on a limited basis the Ft. Bragg area of Mendocino County and Lake Tahoe region of Washoe County, NV. Our area of coverage shifts based on volunteer resources. As an all-volunteer rescue, we may not respond as quickly as we would like. We appreciate your patience while we work through the adoption process. Our goal is to respond to you within a week of your application. 1. Submit Application We seek adopters with previous GSD or large breed experience for the best fit and prefer to adopt within our local geographic region. 2. Interview After submission, you'll receive an email indicating the status of your application and information on assignment to an adoption counselor (AC). 3. Home Check After your interview, your AC will arrange for your home visit (HV). All household members & resident dogs should attend that meeting. 4. Meet the Pet After your HV and once approved, you'll be able to meet potential matches. All household members & resident dogs should attend the meetings. 5. Sign Adoption Contract Once you've found your perfect match, you review and sign the adoption contract. 6. Pay Fee Our adoption fees are $500 for dogs under 12 months, $400 for dogs 1-6 y/o, and $200 for dogs 7 y/o and older. 7. Take the Pet Home Once you've signed all the paperwork, you can take your new pup home!
