Daisy's Story

Introducing our longest resident, Daisy.
Daisy has had quite the history with us. In June, she was brought in after her owner decided it was okay for her to live in a car 24/7 (see photo).
She was returned to her owner with the promise that suitable housing would be provided for her.
Fast forward to July, and Animal Control received a call about her being tied up in a house, with her leash being nailed into the wall (see photos)..
Living, sleeping, and eating (when they felt like going to feed her) in her own feces and urine. Daisy was brought back to us, and this time we assured her she wasn’t going back to a car or room in an abandoned house.
Daisy is now looking for a fresh start. At only 4 years old, she has lived one heck of a life (she already has white on her face). Due to her past trauma, we are looking for a specific home for our girl, we want her next home to be her FOREVER home.
Her quirks:
- She can be extremely barrier reactive (with fencing) to strangers. However, once you open the gate, she’s hopping around the yard like a bunny. A neighborhood with close neighbors would not be suitable for her.
- She lived with another dog who has since been adopted out. She has NO interest in sharing a home with another animal, she wants to be your one and only. She would likely do fine in a home with older children (13+ years old).
Her amazing qualities:
- She is spayed
- She is housebroken and crate trained
- She likes car rides
- She is the biggest couch potato. Give her a couch and she is like a queen on her throne
- SHE IS SPONSORED
We love this girl SO much and are looking for that special person/people who will give her the life that she had been robbed of. If you’re interested in Daisy, send us a message or give us a call at (540)921-2053
