Daisy's Story
Update on 1/21/26!

Daisy is doing great in her foster home and continues to impress everyone she meets. She’s a true social butterfly, and her foster can’t believe she hasn’t found her forever family yet! Daisy would thrive in an active home, possibly with a couple of kids, where she can keep learning, playing, and being part of the action.

She’s doing very well with crate training and is overall a happy, confident girl who enjoys being around people and other activity.

And don’t let her spay appointment in Rochester deter you — if you live farther away, her foster is willing to help by allowing an overnight stay. SDR’s approach of waiting until she’s a bit older aligns with what most veterinarians recommend, ensuring the best long-term outcome for Daisy.

She’s ready and waiting for the right family to come along — maybe that’s you!

-------------------

Original Bio:
Daisy was born on October 25 and has already had quite the journey in her short life. Her mom was found heavily pregnant in Mexico and made her way to a temporary foster home in California, where Daisy and her litter mates were born safely. At just three weeks old, Daisy traveled to Minnesota, where she has been growing and thriving.

Daisy is a happy, outgoing puppy who loves people and greets new faces with enthusiasm. She’s also bold, curious, and confident, always eager to explore the world around her.

In her foster home, Daisy has been well socialized. She is comfortable with multiple dogs, does well with cats, and has been around children. She is already learning important life skills and is comfortable with a crate, often choosing to sleep in it with the door open. Daisy is also potty pad trained.

Daisy is right in the heart of her puppy-raising stage, which makes continued socialization incredibly important. Her future family should be excited to continue introducing her to new people, environments, and everyday experiences in a positive, supportive way so she can grow into a confident adult dog. She will do best with an adopter who understands that puppies require time, patience, training, and structure, and who is ready to invest in her development during these important early months.

Daisy will need to complete her remaining vetting in Rochester through Small Dog Rescue, so her spay must be done when she is six months+ old in the Rochester, Minnesota area to ensure continuity of care.

If you’re looking for a confident, social puppy who’s off to a wonderful start and ready to keep learning with her future family, Daisy may be the perfect match 💛

-Daisy's adoption fee is $400 + MN sales tax.
- You must fill out an adoption application and conduct a home visit before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website: https://smalldogsminnesota.org/adoption-application/
- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, it must be charged.
- Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes. Since we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals, sometimes we cannot answer emails promptly. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond to you.
- You must be 18 years of age to make an adoption request.
- A healthy pet is a happy pet!
