Daisy's Story

My name is Daisy! You may have seen me on the news... I'm kind of famous! My story is unique because, well, I fell in an abandoned well! Luckily the fireman saved me and now I'm looking for a forever home. I've been living in a foster home and this is what my foster mom has to say about me:

"Daisy is a sweet and affectionate dog who walks well on leash, loves to play ball and is friendly with people and other dogs. She is potty trained and does well riding in the car. On the smaller side, this cattle dog mix is perfectly compact and portable, but don't let her little legs fool you. Once let loose in a fenced yard, her zoomies can only be described as explosive and adorable. Besides running circles around you in the yard, the only thing she is most passionate about is cuddling.
Daisy makes a wonderful companion and is happiest when she has her person within sight, or better yet, administering belly rubs. Daisy is unique in that she is deaf. This doesn't affect her quality of life at all. She can learn commands/gestures/signs and is perfectly capable of making her wishes known, just like other dogs. The one consideration Daisy needs is a little extra care for her safety as she cannot hear cars or other danger, nor does she have recall. She will need to be on leash for outdoor activities and at home needs to have a fenced yard. When you want her attention, it's best to get within "eye shot" and give a little wave. Daisy would do well in an active family setting and would probably benefit from having a dog sibling, although it's not necessary.
Because Daisy is deaf, she is happiest when she's with someone. She really looks to me for connection and to see what is happening next."

If you think you may like to meet Daisy, please submit an adoption survey at chicoanimalshelter.orgThis animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter.
